Logistics company expanding into Montgomery County

Bookmark and Share

A logistics company that works with the plastic industry is locating a new facility in Montgomery County, about 90 miles west of Raleigh.

Frontier Logistics plans to create 71 jobs and invest $5.15 million over the next five years in the community of Star.  The Texas company will receive a $128,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund. Local communities are required to provide matching grants.

Frontier Logistics will build a warehouse, packaging and bulk truck transfer services facility in Star. The company wants to expand its market in the Southeast.

Salaries will vary by job function but will have an average annual wage of $47,577, not including benefits. The Montgomery County annual average is $28,028.

In making the announcement Thursday morning, Gov. Bev Perdue credited the state's transportation network and strong business climate in helping lure Frontier to the area.
