Job postings for information technology openings in this state continue climbing out of the recessionary abyss.
Companies statewide posted 3,970 openings in July, a figure not seen since mid-2008, and an 18.5 percent increase from June.
It's the sixth consecutive month of rising job postings in the IT field, according to SkillProof, a Connecticut research firm.
The data was issued this morning by the N.C. Technology Association in Raleigh.
IT jobs include systems engineers, software developers, trainers, administrators, consultants, technical writers and support.
At the nadir of the recession, monthly postings dropped to 1,130 in July 2009. At the peak, the state saw more than 6,500 postings in May 2007.
