Highwoods Properties caught a big one in Nashville.

The Raleigh-based real estate investment trust signed a long-term deal with Simplex Healthcare, a company that provides healthcare products to patients with diabetes.

Simplex agreed to lease 91,253 square feet at Cool Springs IV, a $27.6 million, 153,000 square foot office building in Franklin, Tenn., a suburb of Nashville. The building is now 67 percent leased.

"This move represents an expansion of their headquarters and operations center and demonstrates the strength of the healthcare sector in Nashville," Ed Fritsch, Highwoods' chief executive, said in a statement today.

Highwoods, the biggest owner and operator of suburban offices in the Southeast,

owns five buildings totaling 934,000 square feet at Cool Springs. They are, on average, 93.3 percent leased.

Excellent move

I think this is an excellent move by the company and will give great boost to their business in that region and will help greatly in their expansion plans.
