First Citizens Bank is closing its branch at Raleigh's Five Points neighborhood as of March 27.
"It was a business decision," said bank spokeswoman Barbara Thompson. "We have quite a few branches in that proximity."
Among them, she added, are branches at Cameron Village, North Hills and Ridge Road.
First Citizen's lease on the property doesn't expire until 2014, Thompson said, but the bank decided that closing the branch sooner is the right move.
