City Councilman Eugene Brown bought himself a "smart" television set for Christmas. 
Trouble is, he says, the TV is smarter than he is and he was having trouble figuring out how to make it work.
He brought the situation up Friday while the council was interviewing Jason Melehani for the vacant Ward 3 seat. Melehani is 24 and said he could bring the council a different perspective, as a young person.
"Here's the deal," Brown said. "If you come over to my house tonight and tell me how to work my smart television, I will give your application even more consideration."
Melehani said, "At least you're honest."
