'Rent' is due, snow or no

Bookmark and Share
Tonight's anticipated snowfall brings a possible chill to Durham's new Performing Arts Center. The theater's first Broadway show, "Rent" is due to open Tuesday night.

"We're trying to make sure any precipitation we have doesn't have any major impact," said city spokeswoman Beverly B. Thompson.
The theater itself released a position statement Monday afternoon: "We fully intend for all
performances of 'Rent' at DPAC to proceed as scheduled including our opening night show on Tuesday."

However, should the weather bring a declared emergency, intentions might have to be adjusted. To check how things stand, see www.DPACnc.com; the theater advises that its phone lines might get a bit congested.
