The Durham Association of Educators is holding a political rally and “walk to the polls,” along with a wellness fair, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Durham School of the Arts.

The public is welcome, association president Donald Barringer said Friday.

Candidates endorsed by the association have been invited to attend. Those include presidential candidate Barack Obama, gubernatorial candidate Beverly Perdue and U.S. Senate candidate Kay Hagan.

The wellness fair is going on at the baseball field with a moon bounce-basketball hoop contraption, exercise advice, food and stuff to give away

Durham School of the Arts is on Duke Street, two blocks from the Durham Board of Elections. Those attending the rally are encouraged to walk over and vote early. The office is open for voting 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.
