One more signal the economy is improving: Measurement Inc. is inviting movers and shakers to a "kickoff" event Wednesday for its Morris Ridge mixed-use project.

Occupying the 400 block of Morris Street, between Hunt and Corporation, the project's first phase consists of 12,200 square feet of first-floor retail space, 62,000 square feet of class-A office space on four upper floors and 25 condominiums.

Plans are to have it ready for occupancy by the end of 2011, said sales rep Jay Andorfer.

Office space is priced at $24 per square foot, retail at $14. Condominiums range in size from 780 to 1,361 square feet and in price from $234,500 to $444,500.

A second phase consists of about 110,000 square feet of office and retail space, 30,000 square feet of residential space, and a 600-space parking deck.
