The district met or exceeded six of its 13 data dashboard goals, according to numbers released during tonight's school board meeting.
DPS surpassed its goal when it came to eight graders passing end of grade tests (62.4 percent), meeting its overall ABC growth target, overall end of course composite score (67.6 percent), cohort graduation rate (69.8 percent), percentage of students in DPS' gifted program (19.2 percent) and the district's score on the gallup sudent survey on student engagement (4.1).
The district increased, but didn't meet, its goals for fifth grade (62.8 percent) and third grade (62.7 percent) end of grade composite scores. The goals were 64 and 63.2 percent, respectively.
Scores dropped when it came to average daily attendance rate (2008-09 - 94.4 percent, 2009-10 - 94.2 percent), percent of all schools' AYP goals met (2008-09 - 89.8 percent, 2009-10 - 68.5 percent), SAT ratio of DPS to national average (2008-09 - .950, 2009-10 - .946), students taking advanced placement classes (2008-09 - 1329, 2009-10 - 1270) and district VoCATs performance composite (2008-09 - 69 percent, 2009-10 - 64.4 percent).
