Bookmark and Share

Mildred Muhammad, ex-wife of the “D.C. Sniper” John Allen Muhammad, speaks in Durham Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 305 E. Main St.

Her talk deals with her former husband's plan to kill her and blame the crime on the gunman who terrorized the Washington, D.C. area in October 2002. Ten people were killed and three more critically wounded before John Allen Muhammand was arrested.

On Thursday, Mildred Muhammad will talk about the effects she felt from domestic violence and about her own mental and emotional recovery.

Her presentation begins at 10 a.m. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Muhammad's visit is part of Duurham County's Domestic Violence Awareness Month observance.
