Best Blog covers the sports scene in and around Johnston County and Garner, including the Carolina Mudcats. The blog is compiled by D. Clay Best, the sports editor of The Herald of Johnston County and the Garner-Clayton Record.
Johnston County's two newest high schools — Cleveland High School and Corinth Holders High School — now have mascots and school colors. Both schools will open in the fall of 2010.
Cleveland High School will be the Rams with Columbia Blue and white as its main colors. Navy blue will also be used in the color scheme.
Corinth Holders High will be the Pirates with purple and gold as its colors.
Look for more on the new schools in Wednesday's print editions of the Garner-Clayton Record and The Herald of Johnston County.
