Knightdale names football coach

Robert Senseney, the  head football coach at Roanoke (Va.) William Fleming, is the new football coach at Knightdale High School.

The Knights are a member of the Garner Neuse 4-A Conference along with West Johnston, Smithfield-Selma, Garner, Southeast Raleigh, East Wake, Clayton and Harnett Central.

Senseney has a 79-19 career head coaching record, including a 30-12 mark at Fleming.

His teams won  Virginia State AA Championships in 2003 and 2004 while he was head coach at Gretna High.

Senseney is a graduate Fayetteville Terry Sanford and East Carolina
University. He earned his teaching certification at Fayetteville State
University.

Among the honors he has received are:

2008 Western Valley District Coach of the Year
2006 Blue Ridge District Coach of the Year
2004 Double AA State Coach of the Year
2004 Region III Coach of the Year
2004 Dogwood District Coach of the Year
2004 Danville Register and Bee Newspaper Coach of the Year
2004 WDBJ 7 Friday Football Extra Team of the Year
2003 Double AA State Coach of the Year
2003 Region III Coach of the Year
2003 Dogwood District Coach of the Year
2003 Danville Register and Bee Newspaper Coach of the Year
2003 Lynchburg News and Advance Newspaper Coach of the Year
2003 WDBJ 7 Friday Football Extra Team of the Year
