Another Marlin in Mudcat country tonight

Bookmark and Share

Florida Marlins' pitcher Josh Johnson will make a rehabilitation start at Five County Stadium tonight for the Mudcats against the Huntsville Stars. Johnson is recovering from the 'Tommy John' surgery (elbow ligament replacement) he underwent last August.

Johnson is 12-10 in his major league career.

The Stars' lineup should give the Florida right-hander a good test in his return to the mound. Huntsville has five of the top-10 rated Brewers' prospects (all five are position players), according to Baseball America, in its starting lineup.

First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.

Note: For more on Huntsville's lineup, check out this week's print edition of The Herald which is out Wednesday.

About the blogger

D. Clay Best has served as the sports editor of The Herald since 1997 and has covered high school sports since 1992. He's gone through many neighborhoods of NFL-fandom including the Cowboys, Raiders and Patriots and is in limbo right now. If that's not enough to require therapy, he also has way too much brain space filled with useless info on the legendary '80s TV series "Miami Vice."
