On the Beat

On the Beat: David Menconi on music

News & Observer music critic David Menconi's random (and we do mean random) musings about all things related to music and culture of the "popular" variety.

Triangle alumni watch: Geoff Edgers

Bookmark and Share

My former N&O co-worker Geoff Edgers left the Triangle back in 2002 to go to the Boston Globe, where he's an arts reporter. But he is also venturing into films, and his first project is a doozy: a documentary chronicling his attempts to reunite the original lineup of The Kinks. Check out the preview trailer -- I still can't quite believe some of the folks he got on-camera for this!

ADDENDUM (1/25/09): Another friend made good.

Why am I not surprised . . .

Why am I not surprised that Geoff appears to be in every single frame of the movie? :-)

Do it again!

I hope the movie does what it sets out to do.

That is so awesome

This is fantastic. Sting! Zooey! I can't wait to see the full movie. Warren Zanes was so enthusiastic and cute. Good luck to Geoff!!!
