Some clubs are harder to join than others, especially the ones where you have to be invited. And Stephen Jaffe, the composer who teaches at Duke University, recently scored one of the best around -- membership in the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He'll be formally inducted next month, but it's a group he has some history with.
