When last heard from, documentarian Sam Stephenson was deeply immersed in "Jazz Loft," a multi-media work about a renowned jazz hangout in 1950s-vintage New York City. His latest undertaking is closer to home and involves a lot of time outdoors -- "Bull City Summer," which will document a complete season of Durham Bulls baseball. But it's less of a sports documentary than an art project, with Stephenson and his collaborators adopting some highly unique and unexpected approaches.
