Nice: John Legend to DPAC
The Durham Performing Arts Center won't open until late November, but it's already got some mighty fine shows on the books. And here's another -- singer/keyboardist John Legend on Dec. 13. Tickets go on sale Oct. 4.
Between this, B.B. King on Nov. 30 and 2009 dates with Four Tops/Temptations and Bill Cosby, DPAC is shaping up as the Triangle's cool old-school joint.

David Menconi has been the News & Observer's music critic since 1991. Before that, he spent a few years at the Daily Camera in Boulder, Colo.; and before that, he earned a masters degree in journalism from the University of Texas (on top of an English degree from Southwestern University).
