Slowly but surely, this summer's revived Lilith Fair is taking shape -- including the tour's Triangle date. Raleigh has been on the tentative itinerary since January, and now we have a firm time and place of Aug. 4 at Das Shed. Lineup and on-sale details are still to come.

pick-your-charity controversy
Mon, 04/12/2010 - 22:18 — rossgradySo, after getting a huge amount of heat from feminist groups & bloggers, Lilith Fair removed so-called "Crisis Pregnancy Centers" (which are generally anti-choice & thus don't present all the options to women who are, presumably, dealing with crisis pregnancies) from a list of regional charities that each city's attendees could vote for.
But they also removed the NC chapter of NARAL. Last time I checked, last week, there'd been no real explanation of why that was. Do you know whether they've clarified their criteria since then?
Also, and perhaps more salient to this blog, is Raleigh one of the dates that Janelle Monae is playing?
