Come together: Ben Folds Five

Bookmark and Share

Bounce on over to Ben Folds' Website for some major news: Ben Folds Five, the long-gone trio of Folds, Darren Jessee and Robert Sledge, is reuniting for a Sept. 18 show at UNC-Chapel Hill's Memorial Hall. It will be their first show together in almost a decade. The set will include all of the trio's 1999 pop masterpiece "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner."

Tickets go on sale Monday through etix.com; expect a terrifyingly quick sellout. And as a fantastic bonus (as if one were needed), Jessee will open the show with an acoustic Hotel Lights set.

Tickets will go on sale for students at Memorial Hall at 10 am. They are only reserving 630 tickets for students, so don't worry, they won't take them all. I'm a student at UNC and although I am absolutely freaking out that there are only 630 tickets for us, I understand that non-students deserve an equal opportunity to go to this concert.

Tickets

According to the fine folks over at Triangle Music Blog (which is where I first heard about this show):

Tickets will go on sale Monday, Sept. 8 at 10am
(NOT noon, like reported elsewhere) via THREE outlets: the Memorial
Hall box office for students (where they don't allow camping, so don't
even try), etix.com and myspace.com/fronttoback
(though it's unclear if that will just loop you back to eTix.) Tickets
are $22 for students (limit 2, one OneCard per ticket) and $40 for the
rest of us.

AWESOME

I can't wait. I've seen Ben a few times and seen Darren and Robert's other bands, but never the original trio. Love it.

I cant find tix for this

I cant find tix for this event at all. Not even a chapel hill memorial hall location. Any help would be great if its not sold out already

tickets

Any word on when tickets will go on sale to the general public? I've seen reports for Monday at 10am and other reports for Monday at Noon. Please don't tell me this is another situation where students get first dibs at 10am and the public will not get access til Noon; by which time it will for sure be sold out.
