Reds' pitcher to start rehab assignment with Mudcats

Bookmark and Share

The Cincinnati Reds have sent right-handed pitcher Jose Arredondo to the Carolina Mudcats to begin a major league rehab assignment.
Arredondo had a scintillating rookie season in the majors with the Los Angeles Angels in 2008, going 10-2 with a 1.62 in 52 appearances. He began experiencing elbow injuries in 2009 with the Angels and Triple-A Salt Lake, before missing all of the 2010 season following Tommy John surgery.
Arredondo, 27, is currently on the Reds' 15-day disabled list.

About the blogger

D. Clay Best has served as the sports editor of The Herald since 1997 and has covered high school sports since 1992. He's gone through many neighborhoods of NFL-fandom including the Cowboys, Raiders and Patriots and is in limbo right now. If that's not enough to require therapy, he also has way too much brain space filled with useless info on the legendary '80s TV series "Miami Vice."
