The Cincinnati Reds made a roster move on Thursday impacting their Double-A affiliate Carolina Mudcats.

The Reds placed left-handed pitcher Matt Maloney on the disabled list and have called up Mudcats’ right-hander Daryl Thompson.  Thompson was 1-4 with a 4.44 ERA with the Mudcats and was scheduled to start tonight’s game against the Birmingham Barons.  Lee Tabor (0-2, 8.74) will start tonight in place of Thompson.

About the blogger

D. Clay Best has served as the sports editor of The Herald since 1997 and has covered high school sports since 1992. He's gone through many neighborhoods of NFL-fandom including the Cowboys, Raiders and Patriots and is in limbo right now. If that's not enough to require therapy, he also has way too much brain space filled with useless info on the legendary '80s TV series "Miami Vice."
