Bookmark and Share

Former Smithfield-Selma High stars Dylan Brown and Tate Parrish both had successful but limited debuts for their respective college baseball teams over the weekend.
Brown, a freshman outfielder at N.C. State, played in two of the Wolfpack's three games and collected a hit, going 1-for-3 on the weekend.
Parrish, a freshman left pitcher, appeared twice for North Carolina in the Tar Heels' 4-0 weekend. He worked a total of two-thirds of an inning, recording a strikeout and issuing a walk.

About the blogger

D. Clay Best has served as the sports editor of The Herald since 1997 and has covered high school sports since 1992. He's gone through many neighborhoods of NFL-fandom including the Cowboys, Raiders and Patriots and is in limbo right now. If that's not enough to require therapy, he also has way too much brain space filled with useless info on the legendary '80s TV series "Miami Vice."
