ACC Now

Without Ty, will Tyler set records today?

Bookmark and Share

ATLANTA — North Carolina point guard Ty Lawson has been officially ruled out for today's ACC semifinal game against Florida State because of his jammed right big toe. The question now is: will forward Tyler Hansbrough set any records today without him?

The senior needs 25 points to break former Duke guard J.J. Redick's ACC record for career points (2,769). He also needs seven rebounds to set a new UNC record for career rebounds, passing Sam Perkins (1,167).

The last time Carolina played the Seminoles, it needed a last-second three-pointer from Lawson to win. Hansbrough was held to eight points and five rebounds during the victory.

one way to put it!

I say he breaks both records with a 30 pt, 12 reb day! he carries the Heels this afternoon to a 1 pt victory!

Exciting!

It is all very exciting! We are perhaps in the golden age of athletics from high school to college to pros. We are witness to some of the greatest athletics feats in modern history and Tyler Hansbrough is part of that discussion. Love or hate him, you *must* respect his college game. He is a record setter. He is a top gun on a top gun team in a top gun conference. My goodness, it is exciting!
