N.C. State freshman Russell Wilson was knocked out in the first half of his first college start. The quarterback missed two more games with injuries. He still emerged as the ACC's best quarterback.

Wilson, who threw 16 touchdowns and one interception, was named All-ACC on Monday by the league's media. Joining the Wolfpack freshman on the first-team offense was UNC receiver Hakeem Nicks and Wake Forest receiver D.J. Boldin.

Wake Forest placed two defenders on the first team — cornerback Alphonso Smith and linebacker Aaron Curry. UNC safety Trimane Goddard and Duke linebacker Michael Tauiliili joined the Wake duo on the first team.

Wilson, who led State to four wins in the final four games and 4-0 record against in-state opponents, was the only freshman named to the first or second team.

Georgia Tech running back Jonathan Dwyer and Smith were the only unanimous selections.
