The Los Angeles Dodgers took Duke shortstop Jake Lemmerman in the fifth round of MLB draft with the 172nd pick on Tuesday.
Lemmerman, a junior, led the Blue Devils with a .335 batting average and 11 home runs in 218 at-bats this season.
N.C. State ace Jake Buchanan, a right-handed junior, was selected by the Houston Astros in the eighth round, the 243rd pick overall. He is the second Wolfpack player to be selected in the draft after two-sport athlete Russell Wilson was taken late in the fourth round by the Colorado Rockies.
Also, the New York Yankees took East Carolina first baseman Kyle Roller with the last pick of the eighth round, No. 265 overall.
