Wilson by the numbers

Redshirt freshman starting quarterback Russell Wilson hasn't played a snap yet for N.C. State, but we do have some numbers available on him.

Here are his passing stats from scrimmages in the spring and fall:

Spring 1: 12-for-18, 177 yards.

Spring 2: 14-for-21, 172 yards.

Spring game: 8-for-21, 61 yards.

Fall 1: 3-for-6, 20 yards

Fall 2: 5-for-14, 60 yards.

N.C. State's coaches did not release his stats for the final two fall scrimmages to the media.

In the spring, he rushed for a total of 84 yards on 16 attempts.

In high school at the Collegiate School in Richmond, Va., Wilson threw for 3,009 yards and rushed for 1,132 more as a senior. He completed 59.7 percent of his passes with 34 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

As a junior he passed for 3,287 yards and 40 touchdowns while rushing for 634 yards and 15 touchdowns.
