The N.C. State media guide was printed weeks ago.
But in a four-page section of short features called "noting the Pack," the only featured QB is Wilson — and there's a large photo of him swinging a bat for the baseball team under the headline "dual sport star."
The guide calls him a contender for the starting job, and notes:
"If Wilson, who plays second base in baseball, were to end up as the Wolfpack's starting field general, he wouldn't be the first NC State player to excel in football and baseball. Terry Harvey set career records for passing yards and total offense (which have since been broken) in the early 90s, while also adding career records for pitching wins, innings pitched and games started on the baseball diamond."
In a section labeled "2008 outlook" it says of Wilson and the QB race:
"Another area where the Pack must see improvement in 2008 is the quarterback position. ... Wilson, who also played on the Wolfpack baseball squad this spring, spent most of his time last season with the scout squad, but gained experience with the first team in the spring."
