Who chose which games Wall would miss?

Bookmark and Share

Evidentally, new Kentucky coach John Calipari did not choose which games former Word of God star John Wall would miss as punishment for having recruiting expenses paid by an agent, Lexington Herald-Leader reporter Jerry Tipton reports on his blog.

Calipari says "they" told him what game Wall, a freshman point guard will miss (Monday's exhibition against Campbellsville and the season-opener against Morehead State on Nov. 13.) The coach did not identify who "they" were, according to the blog.

Wall must also pay to charity $787.58 in travel expenses. Calipari said he did not know how long the Raleigh product would have to make the payment.

UPDATE: Tipton also reports that Wall must make the $787.58 payment forfore he can compete in Friday's exhibition game against Clarion. Peevy siad that UK's compliance officer, Sandy Bell, had advised Wall to save his Pell Grant money in anticipation of making the payment.

joke

When it is crystal clear NCAA "student-athletes" cannot have anything to do with agents, John Wall is caught dead to right with one that gave him money and he ONLY gets a two game suspension.  He ought to miss, at minimum, half the season if not all of it.

Also, if the NCAA, or anyone else for that matter, thinks this is was a one time thing, has to be kidding themselves.  there will be more about Wall before this is all said and done.

Upside down.

And then you get some poor kid who would qualify, but misses a paperwork deadline and gets screwed. The NCAA is the most upside down organization that ever existed. They make the IRS look like a model service organization.

Its funny how the reciever

Its funny how the reciever from OK-state lies about meeting with deon sanders (which probably wasn't a violation) and gets suspended for the season and Wall gets money from an agent and gets a couple of games (one of which is an exhibition and doesn't even count).

indeed

it just goes to show, it has nothing to do with the player, BUT the school and sport he plays.

In this case, it is Kentucky mens basketball.

In the other case, it is just Okie Light mens football.
