ACC Now

Wake thin at receiver

Bookmark and Share

Wake Forest lost receiver Terence Davis to an ACL injury in practice earlier this week which makes that group even tougher to figure out.

Davis, a redshirt freshman, was slotted to pick up some of the receptions lost with the departure of D.J. Boldin, who led an underachieving offense with 81 grabs last season.

Without Davis, the Deacs need Chris Givens, another redshirt freshman, and Devon Brown, a sophomore who was hampered by a back injury in 2008, to produce at receiver.

It's big enough of a concern for coach Jim Grobe that reserve quarterback Skylar Jones has been working out with the receivers. That leaves senior Ryan McManus as Riley Skinner's backup at quarterback.
