Wake jumps Duke in AP Top 25

Bookmark and Share

Wake Forest's 92-89 win over UNC on Sunday moved the Demon Deacons to No. 2 in the AP Top 25, one of four ACC teams ranked in the top 10. The Deacs also received two first-place votes — the other 70 went to No. 1 Pitt.

Duke's one slot behind the Deacs at No. 3 with UNC at No. 5 and Clemson, one of three remaining unbeaten teams in the country, at No. 10.

The Tar Heels have lost two of three and dropped from a unanimous No. 1 to No. 5. Conversely, Boston College loses two straight and goes from No. 17 to unranked. Go figure.

Meanwhile in the RPI, the rankings that actually factor into NCAA Tournament seedings and selection, Duke is No. 2 followed by Clemson (3), UNC (8) and Wake (15).

I Thought Wake was going to Be Hot!

I told my cousin before the season started that Wake Forest B-Ball was going to be hard to beat. I was right. They are on track with the new recruitment that Coach G had. They have a lot depth and look in control more this year than the last couple years of play. A final four appearance is up to them. I can't guess like that but they good.

UNC

WHAT !!!! You mean NC is still in the top 10 ???? Are you kidding me !!! How can a team who has PLAYED nobody all year with the exception of one top 10 team and loose the the first two conference games be #5 in the polls. Im a Duke fan and I think they're ranked too HIGH ... they're a # 7,8,9 at best....to much favortism in this deal.

The Polls are Just Little Bragging Going Down!

The Polls are just use to monitor things in a sport. If your team feels that they number one they have win ever night in and night out. This is something that we hardly see in college basketball is an undefeated college team to win a national title. Being number one means are your team prepared to continue to be number one? Every game you play being number one will be a hard night on the court to maintain your ranking especially against another rank opponent. In other words, it's a hard job. It help people to brag a little but when your team is overrated to others you'll eventually fall back into your place that you belong. That still wanting ride to poll to the top again. ACC is dog fight every night to be the best. It takes a lot of luck and good faith to win any way.

Duke is always #2

WHAT! Duke's not #2! In my book the Blue Devils will always be #2.

Attention Everyone

Attention Everyone! Coach K (The Greatest Ever) would like everyone to know that the Duke Blue Devils are now #3 in the polls. The local media probably won't provide coverage, so I'm helping him out since he doesn't care about the polls or the media. I wonder if he knows what percentage of time the team has spent at #3????
