Va. Tech to redshirt Taylor

Bookmark and Share

Virginia Tech's quarterback position belongs to Sean Glennon. The Hokies will redshirt Tyrod Taylor and turn the offense over to Glennon, according to the Roanoke Times.

Glennon, a senior, and Taylor, a sophomore, split snaps in 2007 as the Hokies won the ACC title. The two battled during August practice for the No. 1 job. VT coach Frank Beamer said he preferred to use one quarterback this season.

By sidelining Taylor this season, the Hokies will have three more seasons with the versatile quarterback, starting in 2009.

this is a pretty salty move

this is a pretty salty move by Beamer. I suppose Taylor was on board. Lookout for Tech starting next season ASSuming Taylor is the real deal he's supposed to be.

It makes sense

VT is probably one of the best two in the ACC. They are still beatable. Maybe Beamer is figuring a little bit on the future. They can probably be only so good this year. Although, the ACC is usually their's for the taking.
