It might be time for North Carolina coach Roy Williams to retire the technicolor tie(s).
With their coach wearing a purple-blue-orangey-green diagonally-striped piece of neckware (photo above, left), the 12th-ranked Tar Heels posted their most lopsided defeat of the Williams era on Wednesday, 83-64 at Clemson.
The worst before that? The Tar Heels' 84-66 loss to Kansas in the Final Four in 2008 -- when, it appears (above, right), he was wearing a similar style, and color, of tie.
The only difference appears to be the order, and perhaps the shading, of the bright stripes. Look closely: the one from 2008 ends with blue on the bottom; the one from Wednesday night ends with green.
Coincidence? Likely. But if he has a third in the back of his closet -- with, perhaps, a purple or orange stripe at the bottom -- it might be best to leave it there. Just in case.

Fri, 01/15/2010 - 12:10 — DrCarolinaapart from all of your facts being made up, the easiest to disprove is kansas being left with three years of probation ... never happened.

Thu, 01/14/2010 - 12:09 — InanhoTime for Roy to retire those ties! Maybe he could highlight the school's colors in his wardrobe - that would be novel! In other thoughts, I don't think Roy and his team are on the same page - too many top recruits?
Just wondering.
Thu, 01/14/2010 - 10:31 — JPDOhioAny word on whether Roy was sporting a Clemson Tiger sticker on the bus ride back home?
Lol
