CHAPEL HILL — Marcus Ginyard, a senior on UNC's basketball team, is free on $150 bond after turning himself in to police Wednesday after he missed a scheduled court date for two misdemeanor charges.
In October, Chapel Hill police charged him with a noise ordinance violation and driving with an expired inspection sticker. He is next scheduled to appear in Orange County District Court on July 22.

This is simply another

Above the law?
Sat, 07/12/2008 - 13:08 — Sportz Assassin (not verified) (author)"Above the law?" The heck are you talking about? It was a noise violation and an expired inspection sticker ... not some horrible crime or anything. You'd be bent if a cop popped you on either of these offenses and made you go to court to answer to them. Ooops. I mean, only Tar Heel players play their car stereos loud and let their inspection stickers expire. THEY ARE OUTTA CONTROL!!!!
Noise violation? Expired
Sat, 07/12/2008 - 10:02 — Anonymous (not verified) (author)Noise violation? Expired inspection sticker? Sounds to me like his main offense was DWB.
Wow, expired inspection
Fri, 07/11/2008 - 22:23 — Anonymous (not verified) (author)Wow, expired inspection sticker. That's some weak, weak stuff.
WHY?

Apparently not, as we have

This is news?
Fri, 07/11/2008 - 19:47 — UNCAlumnus (not verified) (author)Is this news? Has no one hear ever gotten a ticket? I've had a few. It just so happens I was out of college, and able to obtain an attorney to "handle" my infractions for me. Maybe Ginyard will take a lesson from this. Lord only knows if he stays here in good Ol North Carolina (my beautiful home state) he'll get a few more down the road.
