UNC's Ginyard out on bond

Bookmark and Share

CHAPEL HILL — Marcus Ginyard, a senior on UNC's basketball team, is free on $150 bond after turning himself in to police Wednesday after he missed a scheduled court date for two misdemeanor charges.

In October, Chapel Hill police charged him with a noise ordinance violation and driving with an expired inspection sticker. He is next scheduled to appear in Orange County District Court on July 22.

Get the whole story

You all who are hating right now know that he actually hired a lawyer to go for him right? Marcus was actually being responsible and was working an internship and could not make the court date. His lawyer dropped the ball.

This is simply another

This is simply another example, albeit small, that many unc athletes consider themselves above the law.

Above the law?

"Above the law?" The heck are you talking about? It was a noise violation and an expired inspection sticker ... not some horrible crime or anything. You'd be bent if a cop popped you on either of these offenses and made you go to court to answer to them. Ooops. I mean, only Tar Heel players play their car stereos loud and let their inspection stickers expire. THEY ARE OUTTA CONTROL!!!!

Noise violation? Expired

Noise violation? Expired inspection sticker? Sounds to me like his main offense was DWB.

Wow, expired inspection

Wow, expired inspection sticker. That's some weak, weak stuff.

WHY?

Marcus, Marcus, Marcus .... use your head! You're much too smart to forget a court date-

Apparently not, as we have

Apparently not, as we have just seen.

This is news?

Is this news? Has no one hear ever gotten a ticket? I've had a few. It just so happens I was out of college, and able to obtain an attorney to "handle" my infractions for me. Maybe Ginyard will take a lesson from this. Lord only knows if he stays here in good Ol North Carolina (my beautiful home state) he'll get a few more down the road.

Gristle to chew on

Oh Great !!! ..... this will give Wuff Loonies something to chew on for a few months.

Heel Loonies will come up w/ 1,000 excuses and Dook loonies will just laff and laff !!!

Nothing changes ....

That's not even worth

That's not even worth reporting.
