Scott Jackson, a veteran assistant who has coached baseball at Liberty, UNC-Wilmington, Campbell, Barton and Wofford, has been hired by North Carolina.
He will replace Chad Holbrook, who left UNC earlier this month to take a job at South Carolina. Jackson will specialize in hitting and baserunning, the school said in a news release.
"I'm thrilled to be working at the best university in the country and with two guys in Coach [Mike] Fox and Coach [Scott] Forbes that are not only great coaches, but great people,'' Jackson said in a prepared statement.
UNC has advanced to three straight College World Series.
