UNC misses on LB Grant

Bookmark and Share

North Carolina, which earlier in the day picked up rivals.com's No. 80 prospect nationally in defensive tackle Delvon Simmons, missed out on another top linebacker target this afternoon.

Curtis Grant of Richmond, Va., who had been considering the Tar Heels, committed to Ohio State, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

Despite losing Grant, the addition of Simmons earlier in the day should ensure that North Carolina signs a top-20 class.

Family ties

Grant chose OSU because his cousin and a friend were committing there and his family said they were happy with the OSU coaches.

Interesting

I followed this with more than a passing interest and I never picked up on friends/family going to osu.

Grant

Really wish we could have had him, but he was really classy in the way he handled everything.  Wish him the best (unless we play Ohio State)

And

I hope the Heels do in the near future. I'd so be there.

The OSU advantage : they

The OSU advantage : they suspend their cheating players the NEXT year

NO COMPETITION

Grant was lured in by the Buckeye's innovative "Tats for Tuition" program. They also have a clearinghouse to facilitate the sale of unwanted championship bling and wearing apparel.
