CHAPEL HILL — North Carolina was missing two players at it prepared for its first training camp practice on Friday: freshman linebacker Kevin Reddick, and defensive end Joseph Townsend, a junior college transfer.

Reddick, from New Bern, attended summer school classes but was not allowed to report because of an NCAA Clearinghouse issue, UNC coach Butch Davis said.

"Hopefully it will resolve itself in the very near future,'' he added. Townsend, who played at Los Altos Hills (Calif.) Community College, has to take care of some academic work before he can enroll in the fall, a team spokesman said.

No problemo

BD has a history of getting all his guys on the field regardless of academics.
By the way, has he withdrawn the scholarship offer from McAdoo...the drug dealer?

I didn't think so.

It would be pretty sweet to

2 players don't report at UNC

I don't give a damn if 25 players don't report as long as Butch Davis kicks enough ass to win 6-7 games.  Carolina NEEDS to get into the Miami/FSU mindset - the time for Crums/Browns/Torborgs/Buntings is OVER.  We spend a hell of a lot of moeny for nothing on this 'team'.  Hell, if Davis can't do it, spend all the money on women's soccer.  At least the close the deal on grass 95% of the time.

John Allen, what are you

John Allen,

what are you talking about!? Butch took Miami out of that mess and brought them back to what they were until Coker over stayed his time.

I love it when guys talk like they "know" when they have absolutely no idea!!

Misleading Headline

I thought two players might be AWOL. It's never good to be missing from practice, but it sounds like issues that will be resolved soon.
