Three return from injury for Pack

Bookmark and Share

N.C. State starters Jake Vermiglio and Clem Johnson have been cleared to play in Saturday's game against Pittsburgh along with backup running back Jamelle Eugene according to the team injury report released Thursday evening.

Vermiglio, the team's left offensive tackle, has missed the last two games with a lower leg injury. Starting free safety Johnson did not play last week because of an injured thigh.

A knee injury has kept Eugene out of the last two games.

As expected, the Wolfpack will play against Pittsburgh without starting cornerback Rashard Smith (ankle) and wide receiver Owen Spencer (concussion) because of injuries.

These returns should

These returns should definitely help the Pack, but will it be enough? I honestly don't know. I've picked the Pack by the slimmest of margins in all the various "pick 'em" competitions I'm involved in, but I really think State is gonna have to play outstanding to win this one. Will the past two weeks provide confidence for State to get rolling against Pitt? Or will the past two weeks have the State players in shock early on against the tougher competition? Mental preparation is the key here. This game should tell us how much influence and control TOB has over his team. Here's hoping for a good outcome tomorrow. Wolfpack by 1 in a thriller.

State will be ready.

TOB will make sure of that.

I do agree that the last two games don't tell us anything about where the Pack is today. They were very valuable in getting experience for young guys, especially getting Glennon some real game reps, so the timing worked out pretty well.

I am predicting the Pack by 3, but this one could go either way. Pitt has played better teams so far, but they still have a lot to prove. So they are motivated to prove themselves as much as State is. Should add to the intensity both teams bring. Can't wait to see it unfold.

Injuries

Looks like no injury excuses for the Pack this week.

State by 16.

By your next watch here. (just kidding)

By 16?

You're just baiting us, I know.

I will take a Rolex cheap though.

Seriously

No, seriously, if RW plays the finesse game and clicks on his passes, then I could see State scoring lots of points, regardless of how brutish Pitt can be.

yeah, okay...

yeah, okay...
