This Bud's for Hawaii

Duke uses its basketball program to fund the rest of its athletic department. The luxury suites at Carter-Finley Stadium keep N.C. State's athletic wheels greased.

Those are conventional methods of funding an athletic program and improving facilities. The University of Hawaii is thinking outside the box and inside the can.

Anheuser-Busch Sales of Hawaii will donate 25 cents from every case of Budweiser, Bud Light, and Bud Select products sold across the state, in an amount up to $100,000, according to the Honolulu Advertiser.

Given this precedent, perhaps UNC can reach out to the DMV for a portion of the court costs generated by the basketball team this summer.

I'd hope if hawaii is

I'd hope if hawaii is raising money off alcohol then they'd at least make it less strict for students 21 and up to be drinking on campus, if a student buys a case of beer he's now become a donor to the school and has invested in it so should get to drink where he wants dorms etc. I find it crazy some kids go look for hawaii hotels to party in when they should just be allowed to on campus.

Big difference

There is a huge difference between ribbing someone over an inspection violation and doing the same thing in a criminal matter. It is right to lay off Sid and his family as they go through such a painful experience. Same would apply to someone who, instead of getting cited for DUI, hit and hurt or killed someone while driving intoxicated. The degree of seriousness matters.

Tacky^2

To WNCMike:
That's right. The way to make your point about JPG's tacky and inappropriate post is to drop down to his level. Was it biased? Maybe. Is he lying about anything? No. Thanks for making the internet a better place.
To JP:
I'm no UNC fan, but I've gotta agree with WNCMike in that your attempted joke falls not only flat but foul. That said, this is a blog and you're allowed to say what you want, so I won't argue that. This may not have been the best judgement call.

Tacky

So much for jpg's unbias reporting (if there was ever any doubt of him having any left).  I image the cost of an inspection violation and a couple of noise ordinances pale in comparison with the attorney fees Sydney's had to come up with.  Not to mention gas mileage costs for visitation to his son's prison for the next 15 months.
