Butch Davis lost a second member of his coaching staff in a week when linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen left UNC for Auburn on Sunday.

Thigpen, a former UNC linebacker who had spent the previous four seasons at his alma mater, joined Gene Chizik's staff at Auburn. He will coach the secondary, according to a release on the Auburn web site. Thigpen joins former Duke coach Ted Roof, who is the Tigers' first-year defensive coordinator.

UNC lost special teams coorindator John Lovett to Miami on Thursday. Lovett will be the Canes' defensive coordinator.

Maybe the coaches want a less pressure situation.

Davis and Blake are bringing in lauded recruits. Maybe the coaches are leaving for less pressure and more $. I'm sure NFL and SEC salaries beat ACC salaries hands down. That's pure conjecture. It will be interesting to see how quickly new coaches are hired.

Coaches leave... That's not

Coaches leave... That's not that big of deal.

I'm more worried about how the players perform.

*cough* Amato *cough*

It looks like...

...a third coach has left the UNC football team. What in the world is going on over there?
