ACC Now

Step aside, Jay-Z

Bookmark and Share

Hip hop has a new hero and it's none other than former Duke great J.J. Redick.

The erstwhile ACC scoring king told allhiphop.com that he's releasing an album with a rap "super group" before the end of the year.

Redick, you'll remember, was into writing poetry at Duke, so maybe that's the natural transition. Right? Either that or he has a lot of time on his hands. Among the names for Redick's unnamed super group is "Sub-par," which is just too exquisite to make up (and all props to allhiphop if it did).

Tyler Hansbrough can have the scoring record and the national commercial, Redick's got street cred. Right?
