N.C. State backup tight end Matt Kushner is out for the season with a knee injury, the school announced Thursday evening.
Kushner injured his right knee late in the second quarter last week against William & Mary. As announced previously, starting tight end Anthony Hill will miss his second straight game with a muscle pull in his chest Saturday when the Wolfpack plays at Clemson.
Redshirt freshman George Bryan, who started the season as a third-teamer, will start at tight end. Walk-on Eric Weaver will back him up, and coach Tom O'Brien said he might move an offensive linemen to that position if he needs a third tight end in a goal line situation.

What comes around....
Thu, 09/25/2008 - 11:46 — Anonymous (not verified)Heels fans who delighted in the recent rash of injuries to the State football team can now reap what they have sown. You saw it for yourself...you are not the same football team without Yates at the Helm, and I doubt seriously it can be corrected by the time you visit Miami. We now see clearly how fraudulent the Rutgers team is and UNC is folding up again like a cheap beach chair.
BOOHOO
Thu, 09/11/2008 - 23:34 — jrbrownAnother reason to boo your team State fans! haha. Did ya see the Heels roll tonight? Thats how you play football, losers

You probably never played a down of college football or for that matter, high school. Its always the ones who know the least that make the most noise. Your just another cheerleader, so go get your skirt on and paint your face for the next game. Oh, by the way, Rutgers sucks!!

Coming from a State fan
Fri, 09/12/2008 - 06:06 — Anonymous (not verified)Coming from a State fan with life time seating and bleeding red. Fans were not booing a player they were booing a situation. (Still an unacceptable and misinterpreted method of frustration) Carolina did a great job against Rutgers. We always want the ACC to win nonconference games: for the opportunity to raise our own ranking when we play each other.
Yes, jrbrown, I watched
Fri, 09/12/2008 - 00:19 — gray_wolfYes, jrbrown, I watched Carolina's outstanding performance against a talented Rutgers team. They should be congratulated for the first out-of-state win in six years.
I certainly believe the unfortunate injury the young man experienced to neither be a reason to boo the Wolfpack nor, as you seem to, celebrate. In the very long time I've been a fan of ACC and Wolfpack sports, I don't believe I've ever celebrated an injury to a participant. If I found myself doing that, it would be the end of my interest.
I hope the next players on the depth chart step up and meet the challenge by playing well.
BOO AND CHEER
