DURHAM — Duke wideout Eron Riley is playing through a thumb ligament injury in his right hand. The hand was slightly swollen during Tuesday's regular press conference at the Yoh Football Center but Riley said, nearly two weeks after it happened, it's less swollen than before and he's feeling much better.
Riley said he tore a ligament in his right thumb the Thursday before Duke played at Georgia Tech but it is something he can play through. Riley has not missed any practices or game time because of it.
He admitted being a little nervous the first couple of plays immediately after he injured it. "I was like, 'Uh I don't know,'" he said. "But going going thorugh practice all last week and today now I'm used to it."
Riley, one of the ACC's top receiving threats, said he ices the hand religiously, to keep swelling at bay. He expects to continue wearing a hand brace during practices and games.
