The Monterey (Calif.) County Herald is reporting that Monterey Peninsula College center Andrew Young, who visited N.C. State this weekend, has chosen to attend Texas A&M.
The junior-college transfer would have filled the void left by DeShawn Painter, who is transferring to Old Dominion for family reasons. Young also considered Oregon and was the target of a late approach by Kentucky.
N.C. State is still awaiting a decision from C.J. Leslie whether the forward will turn pro and enter the NBA Draft or return for his junior season, and the Wolfpack is still recruiting top-100 forward prospect Amile Jefferson, who also has Duke on his list.
With Painter and guard Jaqawn Raymond transferring, N.C. State has two open scholarships regardless of what Leslie decides. The NBA deadline is April 29.
N.C. State already has three McDonald's all-Americans arriving on campus next fall in guards Tyler Lewis and Rodney Purvis and forward T.J. Warren.

News?
Wed, 04/18/2012 - 13:28 — dan2Oriakhi and Noel pass on UNC, and this JUCO guy is what gets written about?
Seems that part of his decision what probably lack of PT at State.
You didn't get the memo ?
Wed, 04/18/2012 - 21:03 — gvillegatrThe only school that gets pub here at ACCNow in the bball and football off-season is nc state. Might as well change the spring and summer months to NCSTATENow.
Who Knows?
Thu, 04/19/2012 - 13:11 — JPDOhioI have yet to figure out what the criteria are for an article to be posted on ACCNOW and one of the school specific blogs. Lately, that has pretty much been only State, although there have been times when it has trended more toward UNC. Never Duke though, which has no football fans and a dwindling hoops fan base as the program is beginning to suffer from all the balls K is trying to juggle at the same time.
You gotta admit though that if NC State's hoops progression and CJL's return isn't news, nothing is! In the meantime, all smiles! :-)))
No question
Thu, 04/19/2012 - 21:23 — gvillegatrNo doubt the CJL news should be reported, but every single blog on the front page right now is solely about state or involves state including the first two off the board. UNC just had their spring game and absolutely nothing this week. Lucky for me I have access to Tarheel Illustrated.
You know how I am though. I'm bored. What can I tell ya ...

Fri, 04/20/2012 - 08:33 — OpenMikequick search yields: in the past week, 4 N&O articles about the UNC-chapel hill spring game, 1 article about recruiting update, and 2 photo galleries. (just trying to help out. let me know if you need links)
You are an idiot
Fri, 04/20/2012 - 11:41 — gvillegatrSure, I'll admit I'm whining (which you didn't accuse me of) just a bit, but if you can't figure out how to decipher what is on the ACCNow front page I simply don't know what to tell ya. No where is there a blog talking about a UNC's spring game in the ramifications I gave you.
quit whining
Mon, 04/23/2012 - 08:51 — OpenMikedo you want to read your articles or not? sorry that they were actual written and edited articles instead of grammar-filled blog posts??? good luck.
Ahh, I see. Only NC State
Thu, 04/19/2012 - 08:19 — dan2Ahh, I see. Only NC State stuff showing up in ACC Now for some reason. Not a bad trend, IMO.
Oh well;
Wed, 04/18/2012 - 09:14 — Shoreman67I was hopefull---he's a good player---but you can't get'em all. I guess by the end of the month, we'll know what kind of team we are going to have next season.
Looks like "One & Done" Calapari will have to reload again; hope this doesn't mean Jefferson will take another look.
