CHAPEL HILL — Marcus Ginyard, a senior on UNC's basketball team, is free on $150 bond after turning himself in to police Wednesday after he missed a scheduled court date for two misdemeanor charges.
In October, Chapel Hill police charged him with a noise ordinance violation and driving with an expired inspection sticker. He is next scheduled to appear in Orange County District Court on July 22.

The ACC has lost eight straight BCS bowl games and no ACC team is considered a serious national championship contender.
But the conference always is entertaining, even when it doesn’t make a splash nationally.
Here are some reasons to watch as the conference’s annual media kickoff (starting July 20) approaches:
UNC basketball commitment John Henson, a 6-foot-10 rising senior from Round Rock, Texas, continues to draw rave reviews on the summer circuit.
All-Star Sports recruiting analyst Bob Gibbons said Henson was the consensus No. 1 player at Nike’s LeBron James Skills Academy earlier this month in Akron.
DURHAM — The final two stops on the Duke Athletics Tour will conclude when football coach David Cutcliffe visits Raleigh on July 31 and Durham on Aug. 8.
The Raleigh stop will be at the Raleigh Marriott Center City. Doors open at 5:30 P.M., and dinner will begin at 6 P.M. Tickets are $15.
The Durham stop will be held at Tyler's Restaurant and Taproom in the American Tobacco District. Doors open at 5:00 P.M. The $18 price includes a ticket to the Durham Bulls game. Or you can pay $10 and skip the baseball game.
Every NBA free-agent move this offseason has involved a former Duke player. At this rate, you can expect Christian Laettner to attempt a comeback with Minnesota.
Chris Duhon signed a deal with the New York Knicks today. Duhan won't be confused for Steve Nash in Mike D'Antoni's offense but his selflessness and work ethic should be a welcome relief at Madison Square Garden.
DURHAM — One of Kevin White’s first moves as the Duke athletic director was to give a key employee room to grow.
White promoted Mike Cragg, the man behind the successful Duke Basketball Legacy Fund, to senior associate athletic director on Wednesday.
"He is deserving and ready to take on additional responsibilities in facilities and special projects,” White said in a statement. “Mike will serve as the project lead on a master facilities plan for Duke Athletics, an undertaking that will have a major impact on the future of this department and the welfare of all Blue Devil student-athletes."
Expansion killed the round-robin in basketball and created an unbalanced schedule. Each team plays five opponents twice — two of which are the designated partner (i.e. UNC's partners are Duke and N.C. State) — and then three home games and three road games.
Teams have used the unbalanced schedule to their advantage, like Virginia winning 11 ACC games in 2006-07 or Virginia Tech winning nine games last season.
