QB spot back open at UNC

CHAPEL HILL — After discussing the situation with his staff Sunday night, North Carolina coach Butch Davis said today he is not going to name a starting quarterback for Saturday's game against N.C. State right now.

Instead, he said he's going to tell both Cameron Sexton and T.J. Yates that they "need to be prepared to play," and that whoever gives the team the best chance to win wil start.

Sexton admitted he played his worst game of the season during UNC's 17-15 loss at Maryland. Yates, who fractured his left ankle in September, has played in only one series since.

quarterback

yates will start the game. unless he really stinks up the place, he will be the qb for the rest of the season.
also, paulus will transfer at the end of this season. both yates and sexton will be back. so why should he stay?

Apparently, there's also a really good qb enrolling next year.

He is for real.. I've seen HS footage and ESPN all america footage of him. He'll will need some polishing, but that's one thing Shoop has shown himself capable of. Although, I do not dislike his play calling, either.

QB Change.

Butch does not have a real good option at the QB position, but he has the best and fastest Defense in the ACC, so why don't he turn them loose and let them play and make their mistakes. Rush 4 Linemen and 2 Linebackers on every play. The other teams don't have better QB's either. The most people the other teams can send out is 5. This prevent Defense he is running Sucks. By rushing 6 Defensive people, give them 5 people to defend against the pass. Butch has lost all 3 games using that stupid defense. It's time he woke up and smelled the Roses. Thanks.

Hallelujah!

Praise the Lord! proof was in the video taped game.

Coach Davis has said from day 1..

that he was going to play the player at every position that gave the team the best chance to win. This just falls right in line with that philosophy. I'm sure the coaches were going to give Yates some first offense snaps in practice this week, so this just makes sense.
