Q&A with Russell Wilson

Bookmark and Share

Excerpts from N.C. State quarterback Russell Wilson's news conference Tuesday:

Q: What did you specifically work on during the open date?

A: Just running the offense, executing the offense and everything. Just continuing to try to make the right reads and keeping the offense going.

Q: I thought I heard Coach (Tom) O'Brien say on his coach's show that in the last two games you'd missed more throws than you usually do. Is that so, and if that's the case, do you have any idea how that happened?

A: You always miss one or two, here or there, that I wish I could have back. But I've just got to keep working hard, keep believing in my receivers and offensive line and running backs, and we'll make passes and completions, and then touchdowns.

Q: So was he right?

A: Yeah. Definitely. I missed a few throws that I definitely should complete in my opinion. I expect to make certain throws, and I just have to keep getting better.

Q: When you lose three games in a row, it's easy for guys to get disheartened. Was there some rallying that had to be done, or was everybody in pretty good spirits and confident going into the open week?

A: There was definitely a rallying, trying to get everybody back into the circle. Trying not to listen to the outside discussions or whatever it is. Just focus on our team and know what we have to do, and realize that we have to have a new beginning, a new start.

This is a blog people, and

This is a blog people, and just a quick n short entry at that.

Russell Wilson is the reigning ALL ACC QB. Both he (by his standards) and his team are struggling. NC State just had a BYE week. The N&O offices are 10 minutes from NC States practice fields.

Nothing abnormal, biased, or unwarranted about this entry. It's a BLOG for Pete's sake... perhaps some of you need to better understand the purpose of a blog.

Right

Yep, it's "reigning" alright, in fact it's pouring.

who is

Pete?

furthermore, i'm not so sure you know what a blog is if you think a blog is used for teams who practice w/in ten minutes of the newspaper facilities!?

Pete?

He is the guy in charge of publicity.

I actually get a kick out of all these State articles.

To recall a few:

"State players told to get in out of the rain"

"Grass grows at Carter-Finley"

"TOB likes his hat, is a flashy as Chuck, you just can't see it"

"TOB - We are not a very good team right now, but we are a great Program"

You could get more out of

You could get more out of Bill Belichick

Should've asked

The N&O should've asked Russell if his receivers learned how to catch during the off-week.

Also, hopefully the coaching staff for State will stop using the stupid cliche' of saying their team isn't very good after a loss. We KNOW that because State lost. It's up to the coaches to put players in position to win, and that's something that is sorely missing from any recent NCSU game.

why does it seem like there

why does it seem like there is a weekly Q&A with this guy each week? Is this something that the N&O HAVE to do to? Why does anyone really care about the weekly Q&A with Russell Wilson, and why not Q&A from guys from other schools each week?

this is what the people want

There are only a handful of tarheel football fans that are diehard enough to complain about the amount of uncch football coverage.  Probably just the 4 of you that post on here all the time.  How serious are the tarheel football fans? Take a look at all the empty bleachers in the second half of the football games at Kenan.

The N&O is simply responding to years and years of complaints from the Pack fans that there was inadequate coverage of their team.

No worries, once basketball season comes around, there will be plenty of articles on the boys in baby blue.

Answer

Because there is one.

Come on psh, don't you think that this was valuable, interesting, useful information? I mean gosh, they were confident going into the open week. Amazing.

just another example

of this being the only school they ever take the time to go see.

this is great for ncsu fans, but what about the 11 other schools??  ACCNow, not ncsunow

Hahaha...

And when b-ball season starts and there are only stories with interviews of UNC and Duke personnel you guys will have a problem with the other 10 ACC schools not having any mention? Yeah. STFU.

Also, you folks do realize it's the RALEIGH News & Observer? You folks do realize NCSU is located in Raleigh? If you want nothing but pandering to UNC, go read Ed Hardin's continual lovefest for his alma mater.

"Also, you folks do realize

You're right The N&O is in Raleigh, But it covers the TRIANGLE, which isn't just RALEIGH and ncsu.  Everything doesn’t revolve around the pack.

Double poster

You do realize a Raleigh based, triangle newspaper is more apt to cover an area team versus someone outside of that established place? Just wait a couple more months till all that is heard are Tarheel and Devil b-ball. So many of you folks get so easily hurt and angst filled when another team is discussed in a NEWSPAPER! Get over it. If you don't like the article, go read something about YOUR team. The N&O isn't the only newspaper in this fine state. Oh wait. Lemme guess. You want your Idaho Vandals coverage.

well

The Vandals are having a fine season!
