Prediction for Deacs to 'Ponder'

Bookmark and Share

Christian Ponder says Florida State is "not going to lose" for a third straight year to Wake Forest.

Wait, who's Christian Ponder? If you haven't been following FSU this season, he's the new Peter Tom Willis/Thad Busby/Chris Rix/Drew Weatherford. Ponder won a preseason scrum at quarterback beating out the senior Weatherford, and has performed quite nicely against a pair of Southern Conference teams (6 TD, 0 INTs).

The Noles get Wake Forest on Saturday night in Tallahassee. Wake beat FSU 30-0 in Tallahassee in 2006 and 24-21 in Winston-Salem in 2007.

An FSU player running his mouth? Good for the ACC. It needs FSU, the old top-5 FSU, not the new-fangled 7-6 FSU.

I'm with Ponder, by the way, Wake's offensive line has problems. Preston Parker's return from suspension will also help FSU's new-and-improved offense.

One problem with Ponder's pronouncement: he stopped short of the guarantee. Deion Sanders and Burt Reynolds frown on such humility.

What's the over/under on the "Unconquered" unis coming out Saturday?

Tally doesnt scare anyone

Tally doesnt scare anyone anymore pal. you still have a weak offensive line and you still havent had a RB or QB since gawd knows when. nothing about your team looks any different than it did one or two years ago.

if you want to win, get rid of dadgumit. UNC beat your ass back when yoo guys were still somebody ... 2001. WFU and ClemPson always beat you too! Miami still beats your ass ... always has with exception to the pell grant years.

how bout you shut up till your team plays a D-1 school!

Let's all hope for the best

There's probably not 1 player for those 2 Southern Con. teams that would make the 2 deep for big bad WFU. How many players for WFU would make the 2 deep for FSU? I guess the world will find out Sat. night in hot, steamy Tallahassee.

pondering an fsu win over wake

this rookie with 2 "nice" wins over the socon needs to shut his yap and wake's the perfect medicine for his big mouth.

Nice wins ... since we are on the subject...

Seminole here. I took a look at Baylor and Ole Miss... your quality wins and their(that's Mississippi for you northern southerners in "Tar Heel" country)records last year and guess what ? They were both 3 and 9. Their wins came against lower tier teams except for an Ole' Miss win against Memphis State, a D-1 celler dweller and Baylor's win against Rice, a team FSU handled ( thought I'd say it before you do) a season back. So, if we are talking about beating quality opponents and all we have to go on is the first two games and their last season record, maybe you ought to shut your yap up.

With that said, I agree, that Ponder shouldn't have popped off, but I doubt you got the entire interview up your way, and besides even if you did, you aren't interested in hearing that he backed off his prediction Sure he has confidence, the same confidence your team and your fans have that you are coming to Tally to wupp the Noles again.

Maybe you will. Maybe you won't. But I'd find a running game and I'd tell your right tackle that late cutback blocks won't be tolerated.  Yeah everyone sees that crap going on.  This may not be the FSU of old, Wake will play; but this isn't last years football version either and it sure ain't the 2006 version. If Wake wins this game, they earned it.  I say good luck, if FSU finds a pass rush and I think they might, your big armed qb will be eating Florida sod.

Your deep safety's confidence is good, and I'll tell you, Parker and Surrancey, and Reed are all the perfect medicine for him. Still, you could win, if so, then enjoy.

If not, shaaaaaad up.
