GREENSBORO, Ga. — Anthony Hill watched N.C. State's first season under coach Tom O'Brien from the sideline after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a summer workout. The senior tight end is so pumped to get back on the field, he might even try a position change.
"Hey, I've been thinking about playing some quarterback myself," Hill joked about the Wolfpack's jumbled quarterback race with five starting candidates.
Hill declared he was 100 percent and "more than ready" to get back on the field. After watching converted quarterback Marcus Stone make 36 catches at tight end in O'Brien's offense in 2007, Hill's eager to have anyone throw him the ball.
"[Offensive coordinator Dana] Bible and coach O'Brien use the tight end a lot," said Hill, who led the Wolfpack with 45 catches in 2006. "I feel like I'll play a huge role in this offense."
As for who will get Hill the ball — Daniel Evans, Harrison Beck, Justin Burke, Russell Wilson or Mike Glennon — Hill's not willing to venture a guess.
"We have so many good guys who can play that position," Hill said. "I'm glad I'm not the guy that has to make that decision."
