Pack gets another S.C. commit

Bookmark and Share

While preparing for its Aug. 28 season opener at South Carolina, N.C. State is establishing a recruiting presence in its border state to the south.

Wide receiver Quinton Payton of T.L. Hanna High in Anderson, S.C., on Monday became the second South Carolina player to commit to the Wolfpack in two weeks. Hanna coach Kenya Fouch said Payton is an excellent student and also considered Wake Forest and Duke.

Payton is 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds with good speed and good hands, Fouch said.

"He's pretty much got it all," Fouch said.

As a junior, Payton caught 51 passes for 822 yards and nine touchdowns, according to the Anderson Independent-Mail. Payton joins Gaffney offensive lineman Denzelle Good, who chose N.C. State in late July, as a Wolfpack commitment.

welcome Quinton, glad to have you. Start hating blue - all shades. They say it lowers your cholesterol, raises your IQ, and is anti-oxidant. Works for me.
