Wake Forest had always been a basketball school, until Jim Grobe came along. Well, the Deacs' November stumbles on the football field can be forgiven because the Dash is back in basketball mode.
The Deacs beat two good teams to win the 76 Classic at in Anaheim — UTEP and Baylor. Both will look good on the NCAA resume come March.
Jeff Teague might be the best guard in the league — I said might, Lawson and Rice fans — and Al-Farouq Aminu has been the best rookie through the season's first month.
Throw in forwards James Johnson and Chas McFarland, who's still productive despite the addition or Aminu and two other freshmen bigs, and Wake's got a legit tourney team for the first time in the post-CP3 Era.
They should be 13-0 when UNC comes calling on Jan. 11 in the Dash.

Wake Forest
Tue, 12/02/2008 - 08:46 — JPMajorI watched most of the Wake Forest vs Baylor game the other night. Wake Forest looked very talented. I'm not that completely sold on them yet. They do however look way better than past seasons. Only time will tell as the season moves along.
